On Sunday 12th September, The Westbury Lions are holding their Donkey Derby. This will be the 5th Donkey Derby that The Westbury Lions have organised.

The event will be taking place at the White Horse Country Park, Westbury and the activities will commence at 1pm with an opening ceremony from the mayor.

There will be eight races, the first starting at 1:30pm. Children under the age of 14 and weigh less than 7 ½ stone will be able to take part in the donkey races and can go to the jokey tent on the day to register.

There will be other activities taking place for all the family including fun fair rides, mini railway, soapy bubbles water walk, balloons, face painting, candy floss, popcorn, bottle and cake stalls, bouncy castle, hot food, BBQ and a licensed bar. You can even have a flutter on the races; you can bet on the tote or with Honest Joe, the on course bookie.

It will be a great day out for all the family and all the money raised by the event will be given to local charities.

Have you been to a Westbury Donkey Derby before? What was the most memorable part of the day?

If you have pictures from past Donkey Derby’s please add them to the photo galleries for us all to see!
