Westbury Carnival 2011

I have just joined the Westbury carnival committee and I met with the other committee members on Wednesday night to discuss plans for the event which is proposed for the 10th September 2011.

Councilor Mr Stephen Miles, with the help of the committee, plans to bring a carnival back to Westbury. Stephen Miles wants the residents to come forward with ideas and offers of help to bring a Carnival back to Westbury.

Stephen said “I think a carnival in Westbury would help lift the profile of the town and give people a big entertainment event to look forward to and take part in. It will also be a means of helping to increase charity giving.”

We are urgently seeking more Westbury people to help out with the carnival and join the committee as we do not at present have sufficient number to run a carnival for next year. We do not expect people to be able to come all the time or to every carnival committee meeting, but we are seeking a pool of people who would to help in some way to restart our carnival next year.
